Jackson County Booking Photo Records
A mugshot is a photograph created during a booking process. It proves that an image was taken in connection with that booking. It does not prove a conviction, explain the later court result, or establish that the person has been released. The image and the custody event are separate records, so a Jackson County request should ask for the booking photograph apart from the actual release or transfer entry.
Oregon public-record law defines records broadly enough to include pictures tied to public business. ORS 192.345 addresses arrest information and investigatory material, but it does not make every booking image automatically available. An office may assess current privacy, safety, investigation, juvenile, sealed-record, and other legal limits. The sound request asks for the image and asks the sheriff to identify any basis for withholding or redaction rather than promising disclosure.

Oregon Offender Search photographs are not Jackson County booking photos. A person released after a county-only case may never enter ODOC, while a state image may stem from a different custody episode. Registry images likewise concern a specialized disclosure system and do not establish a recent jail release.
Why Jackson County Mugshots Vanished
The Jackson County Current AIC List states that it stopped displaying AIC mugshots on January 1, 2022 because of HB 3273. The interface still provides detailed text fields, including name, SO number, age, physical descriptors, SID and FBI numbers, arrest agency, charge, bail, lodging date, and a Release Date column. The absence of a photo is a publication choice reflected in the roster notice, not proof that the source image was destroyed.
The current roster screenshot shown below comes from the official Jackson County interface and documents the text-based custody format and no-photo setting.
The roster can help identify the correct booking, but a person who has already left may no longer appear, and the photograph must be requested through the records process.

Request Jackson County Booking Photos
Jackson County Sheriff Criminal Records is the direct official route for a county booking image. Use the county public-record request form and describe one booking episode as precisely as possible. The unit is at 5179 Crater Lake Highway, Central Point, Oregon 97502, and the research lists criminalrecords@jacksoncountyor.gov and 541-774-6800. Verify the current addressee before submission.
- Identify the person by full name, date of birth if known, SO or SID, approximate booking or lodging date, and court case number.
- Ask separately for the public booking or face sheet, actual release or transfer date and time, event type and authority, destination, and booking photograph.
- Request electronic delivery and state whether certification is needed. Ask for a written estimate before charges exceed $25.
- If any part is withheld or redacted, ask the office to identify the exemption or other legal basis applied to that record.
- Compare the photograph and release event with the Jackson court disposition before drawing a conclusion about the case.
ORS 192.324 generally permits actual-cost fees and calls for an estimate and requester confirmation before fees exceed $25. The county-general schedule includes research time and copy charges, but a past photograph price should not be treated as current without confirmation. Narrow wording helps staff locate the record and keeps the photo distinct from the release documentation.
Jackson County Releases and ODOC Photos
The Oregon Offender Search can display a photo when the person entered ODOC custody or falls within its local Community Corrections scope. Search by SID when possible, or use first, middle, and last name with the portal's documented wildcard options. Compare aliases, month and year of birth, status, location, and caseload before concluding that a photograph belongs to the same person.
OOS may also show offenses, docket number, county, sentence type, begin date, termination date, termination code, and a projected release date. Those fields help explain a state sentence, but the public system is periodically updated and is not an official record. It focuses on current ODOC custody or a current local Community Corrections office, so a fully discharged former offender may not appear.
An ODOC photo is not a substitute for the original Jackson County booking image. If formal historical proof is needed, request the state face sheet, photo, admission and release dates, and discharge material through the ODOC Public Records Center. For a county-only arrest, remain with the sheriff and court sources.
Jackson County Sheriff App Photos
Jackson County Sheriff maintains official apps for iOS and Android. Their verified store descriptions support public-safety information, agency news, and tips. The reviewed descriptions did not substantiate an inmate search, a release list, or a mugshot tool. It would therefore be inaccurate to direct readers to an assumed app-only photo gallery.

The listing supports the app's stated outreach role, not an unverified Jackson County release-mugshot function.

Jackson County Mugshots in News
Sheriff press items, agency alerts, and local news reports may preserve an arrest photograph after the current roster changes. Check the publishing agency, date, spelling, and incident details. Then compare the image with an official identifier and the Jackson court case. A later dismissal, acquittal, set-aside, or sentence result may not appear beside an older article.
Commercial mugshot and data mirrors are categories, not authoritative sources. They can copy the wrong person, keep an old caption, miss a court result, or fail to reflect sealing. No commercial publisher or removal service is linked or endorsed. A request for money does not by itself establish that a service controls every copy or can provide lawful, complete removal.
The safest correction path starts with the official source and the legal status of the underlying case. Where an outside publisher retains an image, use documented removal rights and retain copies of the request and qualifying order. Do not substitute an outside caption for the sheriff release record or the court judgment.
Remove Jackson County Release Mugshots
Oregon's set-aside law, ORS 137.225, can seal qualifying official records after a court grants the motion. Eligibility depends on the offense, history, pending matters, and statutory waiting period. A sealed case may disappear from public court search. That result does not mean every historic copy held by an agency, press outlet, or outside publisher vanishes at the same moment.
ORS 646A.806 addresses certain commercial sites that publish law-enforcement arrest photos and charge for removal. A qualifying person can send a written request with official documentation showing an acquittal or no conviction, reduction to a violation, or expungement or set-aside. A covered operator must remove the photo, name, and personal information from sites it controls without charge and within 30 days. The statute does not create automatic removal merely because jail custody ended.
For the official Jackson County record, send the court order or other qualifying document to the agency and ask how it applies to access. For an outside publisher, follow the written statutory route rather than paying on an unsupported promise. Preserve delivery proof and the official document that supports the request.
Verify Jackson County Release Mugshots
A sound verification uses three separate facts. First, match the person through the SO number, SID, date of birth, or case number. Second, obtain the sheriff's release or transfer event. Third, read the court disposition or later order. The photograph helps with identity, but it cannot carry the legal meaning of the other records.
